Judy Blank – The Morning Tapes

Judy Blank is one of The Netherlands’ most talented americana singer-songwriters. Adressing both everyday and philosophical topics, her well-thought lyrics show a stunning maturity and interesting insights in her everyday life. Her album Morning Sun was recorded in Nashville in collaboration with producer Chris Taylor (Miranda Lambert, The Wood Brothers) and pedalsteel guitarist Smith Curry (Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton).

For The Morning Tapes, Judy re-recorded songs from her album Morning Sun and her EP Morning After in the intimate setting of her own home with nothing but a guitar and a cassette recorder. Together with Pablo van de Poel (DeWolff) she captured some unique, purely acoustical versions of 1995, Mary Jane, Who You’ve Been Lovin’ Lately and others to analog tape.
